Remember the sun in Cannes

Cannes, June 2014 – You may have walked along the Croisette and wondered what those huge glass boxes with famous paintings on them and paper inside were… Well, we’ve got the answer for you! We had the chance to meet Jason Minyo (http://jasonminyo.com/) , one of the creatives involved in the development of this piece of art, who walked us through the installation and explained to us what the project consists of.

In fact, the agency POSSIBLE collaborated with the famous MoMA museum and together they developed an interactive art gallery that enables the visitors to tweet their opinion about the artwork on display. The installation showcased iconic pieces of arts and people could share their insights via Twitter, using the hashtag #art140 along with the hashtag of the artist’s name. They would then print out in real-time inside the boxes.

But that’s not all. Thanks to a sophisticated program on Twitter, the tweets were measured and analyzed in real-time, the insights being then shared on the ART140 website to illustrate the conversations among the Cannes visitors, revealing their sentiment about the works exposed.

The team believes the use of Twitter was the perfect medium to make art more accessible to the greatest number of people, as it is very easy to use and you can share very fast insights. They hope to bring the visual installation to even more places in  the long-term.

We wish them the best of luck for the future!
