Climate change free fall…Polar Bears take a different kind of plunge to bring attention to aviation’s climate impact.

Context: We have a problem. We’re flying too much, and it’s changing the earth’s climate. Aviation is the fastest growing cause of climate change. But instead of doing anything about it, the Government is planning more flights and larger airports.

Agency: Mother

    How sickening can one get?
  • Matz
Best regards from the World Trade Center! Remember?
  • Catherine
That brought those images to mind for me as well.
  • This is quite powerful. The aviation industry has never had incentives (or disincentives) to develop cleaner engines.
  • Guest
    Except for the economic ones.
  • conradfreeman
The moron factor. Dom'f get it, do you?
  • jhicken
Listen to all you pansies, you call yourselves advertising creatives? You are probably all a bunch boot licking toadie account folk. I guess a 30 second spot of facts and figures of the destruction of our planet would have a better impact <right>. Will this prevent someone from getting on a plane to go on their next business trip, or to see their aunt Betsy in Boca? Probably not, but if it generates a little more watercooler conversation about the damage we are doing to our planet, or maybe helps someone shut off the lights when they leave the room, then it is helping.</right>

This is just gross. And it does not make me want to stop flying. Also, what are they suggesting - that people huddle in their little communities and never fly again? What about visitng your family?
  • DLB
    Disgusting and gratuitous.
  • Spud Lite
This ad is grotesque, not to mention hyperbolic. I can't wait till it airs and freaks out just about every child in the viewing audience. The equation presented (greenhouse gases = plummeting polar bears) is ridiculous, over-the-top, and reminiscent of the more outrageous PETA excesses.
  • jdowney
This gory (and I don't mean in the "Al Gore" sense of the word) commercial is just plane stupid.
  • Puresyn
Obviously the best way to make someone seriously consider something that impacts our climate, we need to portray the brutalization of animals. (I'm being sarcastic)

I'll give the CG artists credit for realism but this group needs to seriously reconsider their approach to marketing and stop desensitizing people, it really does nothing for their purpose, nor for society.

OMG!! Holy crap! Are you kidding me with this?!?!?! Bodies falling from the sky in the middle of downtown. That's just great. And by the way...IT'S TOO SOON. It'll ALWAYS be too soon. Oh hey, thanks for the nightmare I'm going to have tonight too. Sweet.
  • Herbert
I think our society needs strong shots like that. Good work . Congratulations
  • rberkowtiz
very impactful, but why have a negative website name ".....stupid"??
  • claxxix
i agreed with you. The website name detracts from the message and the lack of a direct call to action undermines the adverts behaviour changing potential.
  • pam
This is disgusting, horrendous and outrageous!
    It made me feel sick
  • producerbetty
Not sure what this ad is portraying? All I could think about is all the people who were jumping from the World trade towers on 9/11/01 to try and save their lives from burning to death
This is no good. Hope this does not show in America!!!
  • petimadmoiselle
I said it before, I'll say it again. This is just visual rape. NOBODY wants to see this it's horrifying!
And it's not doing anything except make one wonder just how twisted one has to be to even consider this fit for public viewing.
  • max
what's the point this ad is making? A part from being attention getting, is this ad changing any behaviour?
  • theprez
Thanks Mother, I needed this. Proof positive that polar bears don't know how to use parachutes. I'll think about this spot next time delegates fly first class from all over the planet to attend another climate change conference. Is the solution fewer flights or cleaner planes? Would have much more ironic if that bear landed on top of a Prius.
  • TheRiver
    LOL
  • mansig84
I think it would be cleaner planes...
