With an advertising career spanning more than 30 years, David Sable’s roots are in creativity. As a college student, he wrote copy and designed ads for a local newspaper, and also sold creative to a local ad agency. As his career progressed, he joined Young & Rubicam where he expanded his knowledge of the agency world, and then honed his craft at Wells Rich Greene, handling his first Fortune 500 client: Procter & Gamble.

An early proponent of global marketing, David co-founded award-winning Israeli agency Mimsar-Arielly, showcasing hi-tech to Israel and the world at large. In the US, he spent time at PR giant Burson-Marsteller and Cohn & Wolfe before rejoining Y&R in 1990. At Y&R he led the United States Postal Service account, directing a new messaging platform and other assets (including its logo), which are still in use today. His first integrated global product launch was for Colgate Tartar Control toothpaste, which debuted in 29 countries.

As Wunderman’s chief operating officer, David is responsible for managing the agency’s global marketing services network—among the largest in the world. He oversees operations, is responsible for the successful execution of the agency’s long term vision and strategic plan, and he serves as senior counselor to some of our largest global clients, including Microsoft, Citibank and Hewlett Packard.
In 2008, David was a key advocate of and collaborator on DELIVER, WPP’s off shore, digital production capability that gains efficiency by channeling work to low cost, digital hubs. With strong digital resources around the world, Wunderman is a significant player. DELIVER has already enhanced Wunderman’s global digital strategy and infrastructure.

David is a frequent speaker at various industry events including Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, International Post Corporation, the International Media Festival, Forrester Research and Direct Marketing Association. His views are regularly featured in Advertising Age, ADWEEK, Campaign, Horizont, NEO and his own blog: Weekly Ramble. In 2009, David was selected as the president of the Cannes Lions Direct jury, the industry’s premier creative competition.

In 2009, David begins a three-year term as Director at-Large of the American Association of Advertising Agencies. He continues to serve as chair of the Mail Industry Task Force for the United States Postal Service and chairman of the Independent Mailing Industry CEO Task Force.

In 2005, the Mayor of the City of New York, Michael R. Bloomberg appointed him a member of the Cultural Advisory Committee of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. David is also a Board member of the New York chapter of the United Jewish Federation (UJA) and chairman of its Marketing committee. He received UJA’s Maxwell (Mac) Dane Award for Humanitarian Excellence. David is marketing advisor to a number of charitable organizations and universities and is a Board member of a prominent New York City private school.
