Adam Owett is the founder and President of the Arcade Creative Group. After a few years in film and video production, Adam moved to advertising where his career evolved from copywriter to Global Creative Director for Grey Worldwide, based in London, where he supervised several M&M Mars brands globally. He has extensive experience across a wide variety of categories: food, fashion, beverage, kids, entertainment, fragrance, consumer products and, of course, music.
Adam joined Sony Music Entertainment as Senior Vice President of Creative Services in 1999. Since then, he has overseen every aspect of the creative output for the company including corporate and branding initiatives. His responsibilities include the imaging of artists for all 8 of Sony’s diverse music labels, packaging, advertising, media planning & buying, point-of-purchase, merchandising, music videos, content creation, website design and development, brand identity and creative direction for the many third party initiatives of the company’s labels and various business units.
Adam changed how music is advertised – leading the way in developing original TV spots featuring artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Amerie and hip- hop star, Bow Wow. Raising the quality standards of creative and media channel selection, Sony’s Creative Group emerged as the music industry’s leader in cutting- edge seamlessly integrated messaging and culturally attuned creative.
In 2008, Adam established the Arcade Creative Group, a division of Sony Music, to give outside brands access to this highly insightful best-in-class creative. Arcade’s 75-strong team is made up of professionals from all over the US and the world with experience in many different industries including: advertising, television, editorial, entertainment, beauty, film and of course, music. With roots in an industry that creates culture, Arcade is a truly new model of 360 creative communications agency. In just 18 months, Arcade’s track record has won assignments from some of the world’s most prestigious brands.
Adam was born and raised in New York City. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has taught Creative Concepts at the School Of Visual Arts for the last five years. Adam has won many prestigious industry awards including Clios, Tellys, Effies and Mobius Awards and has also been nominated for a Grammy. He is also on the board of Gracie Square Hospital, a division of New York Presbyterian
