Long-time advertising industry corporate communications specialist Wally Petersen is Chief Communications Officer and leads all Corporate Communications for DraftFCB. In this position, Wally reports directly to Executive Chairman Howard Draft and is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communication programs to build awareness and enhance the reputation of DraftFCB; an enterprise currently encompassing 180 offices in more than 110 countries. He also provides communications counsel to all global, regional and local communications staff across the agency’s network.
Wally joined Draft in 2004 after a year of consulting for the agency. He began his career as a corporate communications assistant at Leo Burnett and worked his way up to ultimately lead the department as senior vice president of corporate affairs.
When the Lio Group acquired The MacManus Group in 1999 to form what became the Bcom3 Group, Wally oversaw all merger-related communications worldwide. He departed Burnett in 2002.
Wally graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications and received his Master’s in Journalism at the same school in 1983.
