Young Lions winners for Media, Print and Cyber categories
Australia represented by Lauren Cassar and Tristan Burrell from Universal McCann have been rewarded with a Young Lion Media. Nuno Teixeira and Clara Tehrani from Draftfcb Portugal have received a gold in the Print category whereas the Italian Antonio di Battista and Massimiliano Bibbo from Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett were honored by a Gold Cyber Young Lion. The Film Young Lions winners will be revealed on Saturday evening.
The Young Lions Competition is open to advertising professionals up to 28 years old. The participating teams, comprised of an art director and copywriter, are selected through a pre-selection process in their own country, with the winners attending Cannes Lions where each competing team is briefed by a client to create and execute a campaign in 24 to 48 hours.
Print participants had to create a campaign to protect endangered and threatened species from illegal commercial trade. The challenge for the media category was to create a communications strategy targeting young people to raise awareness of world hunger for the World Food Programme. Cyber participants had to challenge on the climate issues for the Global Humanitarian Forum using the “Tck Tck Tck” symbol and the tagline Time for Climate Justice.
