Advertising for Climate Justice: Kofi Annan, David Jones and Bob Geldof speak during a debate hosted by Hervé de Clerck
Prestigious guests were in Cannes this morning to launch the global movement demanding Climate Justice for all of the planet’s citizens: Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations and President of the Global Humanitarian Forum, David Jones, Global CEO of Havas Worldwide and Euro RSCG Worldwide and Bob Geldof, Humanitarian Pop Star in a debate hosted by Hervé de Clerck founder of ACT Responsible and AdForum.
More than 300 million people are seriously affected by Climate Change at a huge economic cost. It is time for Climate Justice. On December 7, 2009, the World’s Leaders will gather in Copenhagen to create the new and improved version of the Kyoto Protocol. The world needs a just and binding agreement that will commit the key decision makers on the planet to delivering Climate Justice.
Communication is a powerful tool that may involve people and influence the authorities to act against the crucial climate issues and their human impact.
That is why Euro RSCG Worldwide is associated with the Global Humanitarian Forum to launch the Tck Tck Tck campaign to create a worldwide human clock to show that time is running. People from all around the globe may become climate allies in uploading their tck online: http://www.timeforclimatejustice.org
Bob Geldof is the Irish Pop star and Businessman recognised for his involvement in Charity work specifically oriented towards poor countries through Live Aid concerts (etc) and participation to different organizations. He has gathered several artists to sing about the Climate Change.
ACT Responsible is a not-for-profit association which promotes responsible advertising and communication on environmental and social issues since 2001 all around the world and during the Cannes Lions at the Palais des Festivals. Thus it was evident for ACT to participate and support this “Advertising for Climate Justice” operation.
