The number of entries is falling down
The international crisis has clearly not spared the advertising business as The Cannes Lions announced a few days ago the stunning number of its entries.
This International Festival, which will take place from June 21st-27th 2009, has experienced a historical decline in entries. They recorded 22,652 entries against 28,284 last year… That represents a decrease of 20%! The decline is particularly evident in categories such as Press (-32.2%), Film(-25.4%), Cyber (-20%) and Direct (-19.6%).
Despite fewer submissions, the Cannes Lions remains the premiere global advertising festival; continuing to reward the most prestigious creations in the advertising world.
